Hey all. Janko just posted this. It’s a great video, IMO, and he is doing some interesting mods.
Give it a look and thumbs-up.

Janko made some great choices. The LED headlights really pop with GT Silver & possibly the only color where that choice is compulsorily. I also appreciate the blacked out Porsche logo, black brake calipers and the black leather dash inlays; the deviated stitching really pops against a blacked out canvas. I think the limited polished metal on the steering wheel is fine; I understand Janko made a special request to have the black 718 GT4 steering wheel installed but Porsche denied it.

As much as Janko talks to the history and legends behind Porsche; surprised he opted to option the parking sensors, they require holes to be drilled in the rear bumper for sensor placement. Seen one optioned without the parking sensors, and it was very clean looking.
Small detail for the “purists”.

The satin black wheels are a simple option code one the Spyder: XDK. Maybe he meant the gold finish, which is reserved for the GT4 instead?
Edit: where did he speak about the wheels not being available inn black? He did go on and on about the black calipers, but not the wheels?
He also said that "it"s the same platform as the 992 and very different from the 981". Not sure what he means, but he's mistaken if he actually means the platform of the car. The 718 uses an evolution of the same old 981/991 platform.

Janko wanted a black steering wheel; the one from the 718 GT4.

Steering wheel is a 10 minute swap and they are available from parts. Some are really expensive, but if all you want to do it black out the inserts it’s no big deal to take apart and swap. I could do one in 30min now. The speedy airbag (without the chrome circle) I assume is megabucks. I have a set of the bolted style plain black inserts to make a spyder wheel a GT3/4 wheel I have been hoarding as I understand those are not available as separate parts, however, every GT2RS WP that got a replacement CF insert has a spare set as take offs along with the plain black plastic center so lots to be had used. $100, $150 maybe and 30 minutes with some Torx bits and Bob is your uncle (I am sure the GT3/4 wheel is $2500 from parts and on the GT3 and maybe the GT4 has the stitched stripe on the top otherwise it’s is the same). On the GT3 991 forum I have a post about modifying a wood wheel to fit my GT3 with detailed pics and instructions.

They are all the same to get apart and put back together.
Porsche has, in the past, customized steering wheels for ~$4000 via CXX (whatever leather or alcantara and stripe you want, but no adding heating/MF to a car without it or adding wood or carbon to a non-heated MF car). But that is insane in my view unless you are doing something really special like leather to sample.

I have to say, since Janko reported about the chrome inserts, it starts to bother me too. And mine's not even delivered yet. I like the idea below, painted inserts in body color. I would imagine the inserts come off with the two black work bolts each, or am I mistaken?

They do not come off, well the bolts come loose but they everything falls apart inside. . Bolts are decorative, you need to disassemble the wheel to get the inserts out.
