Entire "The Smoking Tire" podcast, w/Opie, from 718 Spyder
If you're not familiar with the YouTube channel, Matt Farrah, from the "Drive" TV show, does this entire podcast while driving in a Spyder press car. Guest/host is Greg "Opie" Hughes, from the "Opie and Anthony" radio show.
If you're not into either, at least its 58 minutes of what the new Spyder "may" sound like...not much review of the car, if at all. I don't think he's stated if this is the US version in other videos. Also not sure if the exhaust is open, as Matt usually opens them by default, but to me, it sounds a lot like the 4-bangers in the lower RPMs. Exhaust could be closed in favor of podcast audio quality. His full review should be forth coming.
Thanks for the link...hey if you ever need parts for that beautiful Colnago let me know...we distribute a lot of brands!
The question still remains how US spec cars will sound like.....hopefully much better that EU cars!
Good looking out...been kicking around the idea of picking up a C64 or another Master. But having (6) issues with my GT4 in the (3) months that I've had it, has got me gun shy about spending any money on anything else.
My bad on the video. In a previous podcast (below) he says it the Euro spec. He talks about it for about 10 minutes starting at 30:40:
Aside from (3) flats on the Cup 2s in the fist 3 weeks, one of which picked up on the test drive, I couldn't take delivery for (2) weeks after buying due to 3rd gear remediation, and vacuum leak discovered during remediation. One of the mufflers was replaced to resolve leak, but the other looks fairly rusty along the seams.
I've been hearing an engine knock/ping since the first month...recently finished running BG 44k, but haven't listened for it because it developed a rattling sound over potholes right after, which turns out to be (4) loose bolts ($300 to replace?) on the front sway bar (dealer where purchased adjusted for me prior to delivery...apparently there is a Porsche process for adjusting which wasn't followed). Pick it up today hopefully.
In between all that, "parking brake fault" had to be fixed, and I've had a "headlight something fault" pop up right before I took it in for the sway bar issue.
Once all the "issues" settle, I get to finish getting the suspension set the way I'd like....DSC controller alone not cutting it.
