has anyone heard that the "wart" between the humps will be present on ALL cars for the USA regardless of audio option?

A picture would be great to give some context to this. Otherwise "wart", "humps" and what it has to do with "audio option" don't give us (me at least) much information...

For the 981 you could order PCM and Back up camera without Sat Radio... meaning no wart. For the 982 Spyder Sat Radio is standard. Meaning so is the wart.

I think Porsche has a contract with Sirius XM radio that requires the satellite radio (and its antenna) to be included in all cars they sell in US market..

@iliveoncaffiene the "wart" is the antennae for support of satellite radio which previously was not standard on the Spyder it was an option ... the humps are part of the overall design that distinguishes the Boxster Spyder from other Boxster models ... in the pictures provided are the humps and no wart between the humps ...

I always called the Sport Chrono a wart and the XM Sat Nav antenna a Tumor.

This is a North America Spec Spyder...has the revised bumper for the smaller plate, amber side markers and Tumor under the rear brake light bridge.

Sucks. Same happened to all the new 991.2 cars. I loathe the wart, and so I had it removed, and painted over, which was tricky to do, but worth the aesthetic result. Also painted all the .2 GT3 black bits back to body color at the same time.

It's not for sat nav. It's for sat radio like Sirius XM which sounds terrible.

Be that as it may ... it does not appear there is any way to go wartless for US bound cars ... from my perspective that sucks and the design aspect is WTF

IMHO... You guys are overreacting. I think the Sport Chrono is worse. At least we don’t have the bumperettes anymore and a NA specific bumper.
