I feel i need to clarify. This was referring to the 991.1gt3rs 500hp version. I completely agree against a 991.2 gt3rs with its more power and advanced aero there is no way on earth that would occur, unless they did tests with slicks. However, referring to my post was one of the auto websites (autoblog or motor1 i think) talking about how the PDK test car had whispers of being 6-9 seconds a lap faster than the standard 718gt4. Granted that would take what the 7:30 laptime at best to 7:24-7:20. And depending on what you are reading the laptimes of the 991.1gt3 rs ranges from what 7:10-7:20?
I would have put the link in the reply but I had read that on my phone waiting in the airport a while ago. I hope that clarifies.

Time comparison against a more powerful one have no meaning unless the track this comparison happened on is listed as well.

For the PDK, I can believe a 6 sec difference to the manual but still a significant gap to the 991.1 3rs. Better power to weight, better aero, more tire. The cayman can’t compete and Porsche wouldn’t want it to anyway.

I was just at Porsche Palooza... and dealer rep made same claim as above.. was at some PNA meeting... PDK ONLY FOR GT4 RS!

Another example on why dealer know less than most enthusiasts and the worst source of info (besides some of those Euro Internet Auto NewsOutlets)...it has been posted here several times an internal PAG document in which states the 718 Spyder will get the PDK sometime in 2020...On interviews .AP has also stated that it will be added to the 718 GT4 in the near future....not an RS version but a regular GT4.

1. The GT4 RS will only be available w the PDK; no 3rd pedal/manual available
2. The PDK will only be available on the GT4 RS, not on 'standard' GT4
Which is it, I dunno.

any updates pal?
2021 for sure; my SA made no reference to PDK availability when I spoke with him last week - we need to keep an eye on the configurator to see if updates appear ... I'm in two minds about PDK vs MT - really want the MT but also want shorter ratios too!
