between the 986 and 981 the wheelbase became signifcantly largely, LWB seats also help massively, as do the seat risers, I am 6'6 with 36 inch inseam and its totally fine, perfect in fact

@Z3Papa
How tall are you (6'6"?) and do you pass the broomstick test with a Helmet? Do you have a good pic to show that?
TIA

I'm 6'6" with a longer torso than legs. I'm very marginal on the broomstick rule. It's better than my old Z3, however, I've found I tend to hunch a bit when I'm doing track days. If I relax, I'd likely barely pass. See post #6 for a good photo of me with my helmet on in the car. That said, at my last track day (a SCCA Time Trial with transponders) a guy in a full-tilt built track car on slicks who I chased for 4 laps before my tires got greasy said to me he'd never drive 145 in the kink at Autobahn Country Club in a vert. I said I didn't think we were going quite that fast, and he responded by showing his data and remarked I was right on his tail. Kinda made me regret not getting a Cayman because the rear does get a bit spooky light coming down to 85 on that course.

It is a rule or threshold applied by various organizations or at track days where you have to be able to have a broomstick which is resting on the A pillar and roll hoops or roll bar which clears the top of your helmet while you are sitting in your seat. When you are on course, if corner workers see your helmet above the A pillar, you may be asked to leave..

Last year, my wife and I signed up with Xtreme Xperience Open Road for a drive through the Catskills. One of the cars that I could drive was a Cayman GT4RS. I assumed I wouldn't be able to drive it due to my prior experience with the Boxsters, but decided to try to wedge myself in and to my amazement I fit just fine. The seats though were really tight and hard sided buckets.

Could anyone explain to me why I fit better in the Cayman than the Boxster? Was it all due to the seats, or is there something different about the seat placement between the 2 models?
the more electronics in them the higher they sit. the seats you sat in the gt4 were called "buckets
