Default Porsche Gasoline Emissions Settlement Email just received

Just received this email regarding the Porsche Gasoline Emissions Settlement, which I thought was fully settled in late 2023. My concern is this could be a scam, therefore I have not clicked on the link. Have received nothing via US Mail as did in 2022. Anyone know if this is legit, or a scam?

You've Received a Virtual Prepaid Card
$63.39

Dear XXXXXXXXXXX
You are receiving this email because you are a Fuel Economy Class Member in the Porsche Gasoline Emissions Settlement and are eligible for a residual distribution. The residual payment amount was calculated based on unclaimed funds and prorated across all Fuel Economy Class Members that negotiated their initial distribution payment.

Your Fuel Economy residual payment in the amount of $63.39 is available as a Virtual Prepaid Card. Please see the redemption options below. Additional details regarding the Settlement are available on the Settlement website at www.PorscheGasolineSettlementUSA.com.
Redemption Code: XXXXXXXXXXXX

If you didn't specifically enroll to get it, it's probably a scam, especially without specific info, like a VIN. You typically never receive such settlements out of the blue. Check the entire email address, and you'll probably see a clue it's not legit. I'd not click on it unless you find out it's legit. It was smart to post it here, as others should have received it, if legit. Keep us posted.

Thanks JCtx. I did file in the past and received compensation. To your point, I found my claim file and did note the CORRECT URL starts with "secure" followed by .PorscheGasolineSettlementUSA.com
Case closed, it is a SCAM.

If it's a scam, it's a hell of a narrowly-targeted one. My guess is that it's not.

it is not a scam
I got email and received the virtual reward card which is legit
I enrolled in the past and received multiple checks as I bought a bunch of Porsche cars in the past
apparently this is a distribution for unclaimed funds

pitt 911: Did you receive anything via USPS as you would have on your previous claims?
I went to the site previously used for the claim and received a message stating registration is closed.
If you still have the email can you show it here?

I got the email today, and I am very leery of why I got this. I received a check via usps a couple years ago for I believe the same amount, but my memory may be off. If this is for the same class action suit, then why am I receiving this today? Also it seems that this is merely for a digital debit card for on line shopping. I’ve never heard of this type of class action compensation.

It’s legitimate, I successfully redeemed my card and added to my apple wallet. You can use it anywhere apple pay is accepted.

I received two emails and also received several checks a few years ago. I just successfully activated two gift cards (combined over $350) and they are in my Apple Wallet. You can also screenshot the credit cards and use them anywhere they can be entered digitally. Not a scam.

Not that we need additional evidence the payment is legitimate, I will go ahead and paste this reply from Porsche to my inquiry about the legitimacy of the gift card program:

Dear Charles,

In fall of 2025, residual distribution payments were issued to Fuel Economy Class Members who successfully negotiated their initial Settlement payments. These residual payments were issued via Virtual Prepaid Cards. If you received an email from info@porschegasolinesettlementusa.com with a Redemption Code, the email is legitimate.

You may redeem your Virtual Prepaid Card through the card servicer at the following link: https://www.myprepaidcenter.com/redeem. If you have any questions, you may contact the card servicer at 1-888-371-2109. The prepaid cards do not expire, but after 12 months of inactivity there may be associated inactivity fees.

Regards,

Porsche Gasoline Emissions Settlement

(I also have the card in my Apple Wallet but have not yet tried to use it.)
