Default Oil Level Sensor Conditions?

My GT4 was reporting it was about a half quart low on oil. Topped it up and went to check the level again, but it keeps saying “Not Available”. I’ve probably put about 30-40 miles on it since then, have had it fully up to temp (220 or so) and my longest drive was about 30-40 minutes. Does it just need more time?

The oil sensors can be quite finicky. The one on my Spyder kinda had a mind of its own. Worked sometimes immediately, other times not. My 4RS works pretty much all the time.

On my 981 GT4 what works is the car needs to get up to temp, then needs to idle on a level surface for about a minute. That will usually trigger a reading.

Can also shut it off when hot, pop the rear hatch and close it, that will also trigger it to read level. in fact easiest way to add oil accurately is just that. Get hot, stop, pop hatch, read oil level. Pop hatch again to add oil, then close it and should read again.
