Then again, it unlocked and I got a new date 6 months later. So be aware that, well, I'm not sure. But make sure you have a build with the dealer you feel good about RIGHT NOW - just in case.
Point taken. Thanks!

I submitted what I hope is a final build today (or so I think):

EDIT: Interesting point on my tastes. I actually started thinking about getting a manual by looking at used Spyders and funny enough I actually prefer the look of the Boxster. I'm just not a fan of the Spyder humps especially when viewed with the top up. Beauty of life though is that we can all feel good about our own preferences and life sure gives us LOTS of choices when it comes to the world of Porsches. The only other thought I've figured out whilst going through this process is realizing that a lot of current buyers are playing with Porsches because of money not because the really love the cars and that to me is a bit of a shame. I really do believe Porsche stands head and shoulders above any other car maker when it comes to making sports cars that are as nice on the road as they are comfortable on track at 150 mph.

Here's me at my best enjoying Porsches the way I think they were meant to be enjoyed:

more people prefer silver over gentian blue according to production numbers...

Personally I think the Ice Grey looks amazing, but I'd probably go with Arctic Grey
Production numbers are not a measure of popularity

I picked the subdued choice. The turbo wheels you added makes it better than the 5 spoke ones you originally had on the silver car.

To be honest, I like flashy more than subdued on Porsches. Something about how Porsche does their colors that makes it really stand out amongst the bland cars out there, I would personally take advantage of it but the silver one looks good too

I think I'm biased because my very first Porsche was a 2011 911 CS4 PDK in silver. I drove that car to work regularly and had my first PCA HPDE experience in that car so I think that was the start of my bias. I'm kinda the opposite of your thought in that a Porsche to me should be silver or white . . . although I also owned a Peridot Cayman R. I LOVED that car to death, but when my wife lost her job I had to sell it. I really regret selling that car, and I LOVED that color, but somehow it was synonymous to the R in my mind and a one off. Also, being late to the party, I much prefer a mid-engine Porsche over a rear engine, but I realize that to true Porsche aficianodos, Porsche is synonymous to 911.

Anyways, here's me in my silver 911 on my second HPDE:

and my Porsche history in pics

EDIT: I apologize if this picture seems inappropriate to some, but I will add some background that might help. First that is my daughter, second she loves the picture and asked to be in it, and most importantly she is a senior BioMedical engineer at Johnson&Johnson in San Jose CA developing surgical robots who went from new hire to manager in 3 years. I couldn't be more proud of her.

and today's build

that configurator never really shows any of the colors in a good light....best way to get a feel for the colors you might like the best is to visit a Porsche dealer and see them in person or just google each color ie "shark blue 718" and scroll through the images

my favorite color right now is Arctic Grey for what it is worth.

while I’ve never been a fan of chalk, I saw one with the blue interior and top and it was sharp!

If you're thinking this route, I would seriously consider satin black wheels, colored center caps, and red calipers. Maybe add in black door handles... that would be a stand out car in a classy way (IMO)

Carry on old chap. Good luck and enjoy the journey. My apologies for my previous post and irascible behavior. I just don’t like posing women next to cars which drew my ire but you explained the context.
Regarding colors, CR is my absolute favorite but I own a white car which I couldn’t avoid because I bought it used. CR looks wonderful even on a Macan. Sometimes I debate selling my car for an identical one in CR but that would be very foolish although I don’t claim to have always been rational.

It is the current zeitgeist. The sharing of very private matters and personal information with pictures in a public manner with complete strangers. After all, if it is not captured on social media, can it be true? Carry on old chaps and don't mind this curmudgeonly scientist. I do have issues it seems. I will admit to not being current with the times.
