Default How to properly price my GTS 4.0

Hello all, I apologize in advance if this is not the correct place to ask. I poked around the site and didn't find anything obvious for asking "how much do you think my car is worth?" or "how do you price your car when sites like KBB don't have enough data?" etc.

So, my question is, how should I go about pricing a 2021 Cayman 718 GTS 4.0 with 20k miles in great condition? (shown in attached pic, window sticker in other pic).
Also, in your experience, is Rennlist the best place to find the right buyer?

VIN: WP0AD2A81MS281664
mileage: 20k
Original purchase price: $104,840
Maintenance: All good
Notes: Everything in great condition. PPF on front end from purchase. Minor scuffs on underside of front lip.

Any advice is appreciated!

Have you checked Edmunds? Based on your VIN, options etc. in my state, the private sale/dealer retail value seems to be about 75k. 10k lower for trade in.

I looked at finder.porsche.com. I found a single 2021 GTS 4.0 with around 6K miles for $106K. With 20K miles and because private sale is usually cheaper than dealer, yours should be lower. My guess would be in the mid to high 90's, maybe. With so few cars it's hard to say.

Become a paid member here and post in the Marketplace - non-paying members are not supposed to sell in the forums, or try to advertise their cars in a roundabout-way.

quick sale start your ask with 8, not in a hurry ask for mid/high 90s & see what you get, gut feel is you'll get 90-95

and rennlist marketplace is not the best place to sell, usually you'll get tire kickers unless you price it really aggressively

I'm really glad you left this post alone- you or other mods have nuked some of my posts too and it was really annoying. If I wanted to formally advertise my car I'd become a member, if I want to bitch and moan about trade in value let me without coming in with the post deletion like Pol Pot. Sheesh.

Yeah, literally anyone on this forum whether they have a car or not would buy this car for $75k. If you wanted it gone in 60 seconds, list it for $75k.

That said- asking prices can be really, really deceiving. I decided to not try to play this game and traded mine in for $98k. Mine was a 23 BGTS with 6k miles and a $114k MSRP I picked up in October last year. Yes, I lost a lot of money. No, I did not want to deal with tire-kickers, ESPECIALLY the type who buy Porsches. Yes, it was absolutely worth it.

If I were to sell it private party I wouldn't have taken less than $107k for it, would have tried for $110k because it had a lot of PPF. With trade tax credit it came out to $103k. Pay $4k to not deal with some of the people who post in here, in person? Take my money.

There is asking price and then there is selling price. I have found Edmunds to be accurate in the past but who knows. Car also has 20k miles but yeah, should be better than 75k but I’m not in the car sales business

If you can get bring a trailer to accept it that is the place to go to get top $$ and it’s a one week auction. They don’t take every car but being it is a GTS 4.0 you have a good shot.

I don't think it's remotely accurate for this case. Used 2021 GTS 4.0's are selling for more than MSRP. Part of that is that the base price has gone up $9000 for current orders.

Tell me about it! My 2024 BGTS build is 115K and some dealers are asking 7.5-10k over. Fortunately, there are some (very few) willing to sell at MSRP.

Doesn't appear that 718 GTSs do very well on BAT -- or perhaps just a different market for non GT cars.

I just bought a 2022 Boxster 25th anniversary edition for 100k, 8k miles from Porsche of Nashua, NH. Original MSRP was 109k. Carrera white metallic with red interior. Just a reference point. CPO until 2028.

it's actually pretty simple, check all the sites and see what the current asking prices are on similar vehicles....

If you want to sell it quickly, price it lower than the others, if you want to get top dollar and are in no hurry to sell it, price it higher.

6MT's will be priced a bit higher in most cases vs PDK on the used market, so compare it to other PDK ones when pricing it.

just did a quick search and it seems most of them are super low mile garage queens about $101K average
