Our new 718 Boxster T
I’ve heard some talk about how agonizing those 10 years between wanting your first Porsche and finally getting one can be… in my case it was more like 40 years, but the day has finally arrived. Wife and I just took delivery of a Boxster T.
With no garage at my house, the plan is to keep her garaged (car, not wife lol) at my folks’ place during the winter months. I’d love to hear anyone’s experience with regularly using an outdoor cover: did it leave scratches? Are some brands better than others? Car is ceramic coated, no PPF.
Looking forward to learning a lot from this great community of enthusiasts!

Three Wheelin'
I'm doing what you propose. 3 seasons outside, winter in the garage.
I bought a cheap reflective cover from amazon (69$) No scratches after 2 years. Only problem is it's not custom, so I have to fold the mirrors in, which is a pain.
Eventually I will get a custom covercraft top of the line. I've had one for my westfalia for 25+ years and it's still perfect

Congratulations, she is beautiful. My only thought about leaving your car outdoors is the sun 🌞 . Down here in South Florida it is brutal !! Our first Boxster was outside without a cover and the sun faded the black convertible top and the headlights became completely crazed. I replaced the headlights under warranty before it expired but couldn’t do anything about the faded top. It was my wife’s daily driver for work so she was NOT going to be taking the cover on and off twice a day. We traded it last year for a Boxster 25 which lives in the air conditioned garage.
Put the best UV inhibitors on the headlights that you can find. I also just replaced the headlights on our Macan for the exact same reason, thankfully they were also under warranty. I don’t think that the Porsche plastic in the headlights is very good against the sun’s UV rays. Hopefully the sun in Boston is not as bad as it is in South Florida. Best of luck with your new car, you are really going to love the Boxster.
