Default Build times

Hi All,

I'm curious what length of time you have seen for your car builds from milestone 2 to milestone 3 (CP8). My Boxster T went into production (milestone 2) on 10/11 and has gone through numerous delays and is now estimated to complete production on 12/16. Is that normal for a lot of your or ?

No way, not normal at all.

The dates on TYD were kind of a mess for me and it didn't update until it was "in transport to Emden", but pretty much production was completed and it was at the port in a little over a week once production started.

You were one of the cars I was following on here with your posts (we have the same color). Maybe they ran out of paint when your car was done!

It's a great color! The wait will be worth it.

I'd try to lean on my SA to get more details around why your car is sitting so long. It's got to be some kind of supply chain thing, but some visibility would help ease your anxiety...

I just got a new update that says my car is complete (V300 verified with my SA), and that it is on the way to the port so that is exciting. Our cars may be on the same boat Vampire

How do we find the boat name? It probably won’t be finalized for a few days as it is scheduled to be loaded in 2 days.

I've read that it will give us our ship name once it is assigned/loaded (which we can then track on shipping sites for more real time location information...and to make sure it is staying afloat)

The boat name will eventually appear in TYD. The Lake Wanaka is close to Emden, due to get there tomorrow. The Sunshine Ace is heading back towards Emden now also and is expected to arrive there 12/8. Hopefully all three of us make one of those!

I've got a BGTS coming to STL via the port of Houston. It was a February demand order with an allocation the first week of May. It's been delayed about 3 months from the original timeline they gave me when I got the allocation.

Very nice. My car will be coming through Baltimore so it sounds like different boats.

Most vessels heading towards the east coast will hit several ports. Both the boats for my cars went through Halifax, Baltimore, Jacksonville, then Houston.

Once you know what ship you're on you can track it via vesselfinder.com- or just google it. There's a couple sites out there. It will show you GPS location of the ship when they're within ~50 miles or so of land. If you're hardcore you can pay 99 cents a day or something like that and track it across the Atlantic! I didn't do that but I know some others do.

I have the same exact dates as you. Due to 3 recent changes I made on Nov 16 and Nov 19, my status late yesterday on my build was order stop. My order just got locked for the first time late yesterday,( with all 3 changes incorporated and everything else I wanted including PCCB) or this morning and is now at V220 - Vehicle selected for Production. TYD shows production scheduled Dec 9 and production starts Dec 16 and finished production Dec 23. If I remember correctly it moved up about a month from where things were in Mid Oct. TYD does not match info the dealer has. TYD seems like it is not updated.
