Make an existing CarPlay system wireless
I bought the CP2A GarlinKit for our 718. It really doesn't work for us. It connects but the touch screen is non-responsive until you push Home then back to CarPlay. Rinse-and-Repeat.
I've tried support and they really aren't any help after over a month. I'm trying to get a refund but No Joy so far.

I just got a CarlinkIt 4.0 from Amazon via the Carlink store, so I assume this is valid for warranty. Anyway I got my phone connected and it shows up on the screen, but the touch screen doesn't work at all, not on the Carplay screen or the initial carlink screen. Can't figure out anything, if you press around randomly sometimes it'll just make a phone call, or trigger siri but nothing ever changes on the display. I checked for updates and it says I'm up to date, any thoughts? This is on a 2023 GT4.
I too just received a CarlinkIt 4.0 from Amazon and tried getting it installed on my 2022 GT4 and had the exact same problem you are having. I tried updating the firmware, but it claimed to already have the latest. I'll be returning it ASAP.[/]
I just tested it in my ranger and it works there, so I think it’s just incompatibility issue with the PCM

Yeah, I that sounds likely. Maybe I'll pick one (or something similar) up in a few months while they sort out their firmware issues. I don't want to wait with the device in my hand and find out I can't return it and that they don't fix the issue.
Should've said he had the U2 version, that's what's in my cart, I'll be getting one coming, will also report back, as I said though we tried his and it worked, touch screen worked moved around navigated stuff all seemed good, the CARLINKIT4 is definitely going back unless the wife wants it in the Ranger.

I had wireless on my M4. It is convenient.
However. I’m using usually Waze and it drain battery. Therefore majority of the time I need to be plugged in for charging reasons. Therefore the wireless is pointless. Even with M4 I used cable often.
are others just using battery then charge at home later ?

I use wireless carlink and wireless/magnetic SCOSCHE charger. Short trips I can leave my phone in pocket, if worried about the battery, put the phone on the charger. No wires.
Tried to upload a pic, but not working.

Tried the U2 version tonight and success! Thanks for pointing me to this model. Hopefully the rest of the experience works out

Thank you for the confirmation. I’m traveling at the moment so won’t try until I get home.
As for Nav draining battery, probably but most of my trips I know where I’m going so it’s only about having the phone for music sources so it’s nice to have that control, if I was going further or using Nav I’d definitely just plug in.

Support did get back to me. Below is the exact response. I assume the author has English as a second language. But it looks like the same procedure as upgrading the firmware, but clicking Reset to factory settings. I'll try it tomorrow.
"Connect the box WIFI (VOL, Auto at the beginning of WiFi or change with the model, password: 12345678)
Open the mobile phone's browser and enter 192.168.50.2 in the address bar
Click Advanced Settings - Reset or restore factory settings."

They gave me a 15% discount only paid $89. The discount code is SAVE15. I've asked them and every one is able to use the code. It's definitely worth it!
