Default Ride is off

Have a ‘17 Cayman S. The car you to have a nice solid feel to it. Always rode firm obviously but felt good. Now at about 19K it has a completely different feel. Feels like stabilizer bars, are gone. The whole suspension feels loose. Is there a better stabilizer system out there for this car. I saw a rear body stabilizer bar I could add, that would probably help some but I feel it’s going to take more than that to get the suspension back closer to a new feel. I would appreciate any input.

I would get a really good alignment first. My 981 when it was out of spec felt dangerous at high speeds. Very strange feeling. Anyway it was alignment.

check tires and alignment. That should solve the issue.. Porsche's are very sensitive to proper alignment setup..

Tires are new. About a month old, it was driving like this before they were put on as well. I did see a sub frame stabilizer bar for the rear which I may get and install, for a couple hundred bucks it will probably help a little, I don’t expect it to resolve the problem by any means.

Why don't you have a competent professional check it instead of throwing money and parts at it.

What brand of tires? If they're not OEM that can contribute to a lot of what you describe. Alignment should help as well.

Otherwise, not sure what to tell you. The car certainly shouldn't be showing severe signs of suspension wear with only 19k miles.

^^^^^^^This. Easy to identify/eliminate a busted spring, leaking shock, crapped out bush on rod end etc before you spend $$$

I’m not throwing money at it. Doing research right now. Competent professionals seem to be few and far between. Dealerships around here you’re lucky to get your car back with no damage much less fixed properly. I’m researching some independent shops now.

I spent my entire working life in the tire business, I understand what you’re saying but not the case here. They are Pirellis on it which are NOs nothing changed when the tires were replaced. It did come with Michelins which I would definitely prefer for ride quality. Unfortunately with supply chain issues they weren’t available.

You own a low mileage car that’s only a few years old.

If the handling seems off, then easiest diagnosis is tires/alignment.

Short of that there is some damage somewhere, have you had any “events”?

Ditto, car is too young to have suspension issues unless something else happened like a previous accident.

Alignment first. OP seems certain tires aren’t an issue based on lifetime achievement.

Then go to plan B if needed.
