Default Traded 718 for Macan S

Got a loaner Macan when my Cayenne Turbo was in for service. My wife liked it, so I

started looking for replacement for her 2017 Boxster base. Found a 2021 Macan S with 6000 miles for the right price but in Kansas. Drove the Boxster up from Austin to trade.
So little under 700 miles to drive. The Boxster was awesome!! IH35 toll in Kansas is very Autobahn like, folks were moving out! The base was just perfect, at speed passes were effortless. If I’m ever in the market for another 2 seater it’ll be another 718 base.

We did almost the same thing. We got a Macan as a loaner and liked it so much that we put down a deposit to buy it when it came off the loaner service. But.... we did keep my wife's base boxster as well.

As someone from northern Europe I got to ask. Does that mean people are averaging 220 km/h with bursts of 300 on a regular basis on the IH35? If so, sounds like I need to visit Kansas and rent a cool car.

No. If Americans manage to go 150km/h we say it’s like the autobahn.

Boxster base, 300 km/h not likely. Interestingly, 4k RPM in 6th gear is exactly 160km/h

Ah, I did a similar exchange when I bought a 2017 Panamera 4S. Being of a certain age, I figured I would go a more "genteel" route and finally give up the sports car, and traded in a Boxster. Well, that was a mistake. After about a year, I went back and bought another Boxster. Now I have both the Panamera and the Boxster and I am a happy camper. Good luck with the new car, and do let us know how long it takes for another Boxster to appear in the garage.

When I take my Boxster in for service I usually get a Macan as a loaner if Uber rides won't do.
I'm always really happy to have my Boxster back.

I am not getting rid of my 718 but I must admit that I did contemplate it after the same situation, receiving a Macan loaner while 718 was in for service. The Macan really is a fantastic car.

I purchased a very low miles, high spec '16 991.1 GTS, but the Boxster GTS stays. Just too fun with the top down and the way it carves up the road. Just got home from dinner with it and wish the drive was longer. I could see a Macan as a future addition but not an EV unfortunately. Love my buddies Macan GTS. Pretty badazz with the tune he has on it.
