Default Intermediate Service cost for a 2017 Boxster S

Intermediate service quoted at the dealer surprised me
car has 12000 miles
1600 dollars oil change and filters and oil additives chassis convertible top line and inspection
was told it took 5-6 hours
is it possible we are now seeing ADM for routine service for 9 car owners or is this a typical fee
was also quote 3200 dollars for 4 Michelin PS4 20 inch

yikes I sold my ferrari a decade ago for price of maintenance

I bought plugs, oil, filter, air filter, cabin filter for about $240.00 and will DIY. That included a new tool or two LOL.

Intermediate should have included plugs which has a high labor cost. Paying for plugs that say Porsche verses Bosch is a waste. Not sure if the 4 banger is easier than the six. Nothing special about the rest of the service. I need to change my plugs. The $600 cost is a major motivator.

Last time I looked at the the service breakdown, intermediate service was:
- engine oil and filter
- cabin filter and HVAC pre-filter
- brake fluid flush
- the various inspections
(- windshield wipers (too, IIRC.)

For a Boxster maybe something to do with the top (don't have one so, anything do to with the top never hits my brain.)

A '17 would be due for spark plugs.

6 hours seems about right for *all* of that. If the dealer rate is $175 per hour then that's $1050 labor and $550 in parts. The latter is of course subject to dealer markup of marked-up Porsche prices. Last time I checked they wanted $34 per spark plug

Wasn't one of the Silly Cone Valley folks quoted $3k for it?
