Default CTEK another good neg. connection?

Is there another place to connect a CTEK eyelet other than the factory recommended negative post?
Positive connection is on the far passenger side and the negative connection is way over on the driver's side and this is stretching the
line so I can't make a tidy arrangement.

Just cut the eyelet off and extend the wire (ring terminal, crimp connector, and short length of wire) so you can make a tidy arrangement. That's what I did.

I have my official Porsche charger (same as CTEK) mounted on the wall and use a few CTEK extension cables to plug it into my passenger side cig lighter socket. Keeps the battery charged nicely. Its easy to plug and unplug from outside the car when I want to.

Can't do that where I live. Gone for many months and unpredictable power outages require enlisting a neighbour to reset the units. Two cars have alligator clips, one is plugged into the cig. lighter. The one with cig. lighter needs to be hard wired.

Simple enough, thanks.

On my 991 I installed the negative to the nut for the retaining bar that spans across the top of the battery. The nut is under the wiper cover and against the firewall. So the wires neatly tuck in without being stretched across the bay. I pulled the quick connect up over the bay cover and it just rests on top for quick access.

That's doable. I am sure I have a nut that size after 55 yrs of collecting.

nothing wrong with that, just the negative terminal on newer cars has some circuitry that can be damaged from what others have posted, who the hell knows the true story.

You can, but as I have discovered, if you lose power then you need to reset it, whereas if it's connected to the battery it resets itself with no human intervention.

haven’t tried that yet. I bought a few CTEK extension cables that I use to reach my cig lighter port in the passenger footwell. A male and female cig lighter adaptor and the 8’ foot extension cable. I’m able to reach my port easily.
