Default Loud squeak from brakes.

Anyone else have brake problems? My car all of a sudden started squealing as if It had a loose belt. The sound is coming from the front passenger brake. It sounds like metal on metal but I the pads look ok. the car has 600 miles on it and not sure what's going on. Can't get it towed to the dealership probably Monday or Tuesday due to bad weather. Its a 2022 GTS

It's a Pcar....the brakes should squeal. Do a few hard stops to help bed in your pads some......Phil

Definitely not a normal brake squeal. Very familiar with race pads and this is definitely something wrong. Did a few heart stops both forward and reverse with no luck. It almost like its stuck

Squeak only during braking, or all the time?

Perhaps something like a rock stuck in the caliper. Check the disk for grooving.

Thanks for all the feedback, that’s what I’m thinking as well with the rocks. We got hit with a really bad winter storm so I haven’t been able to get back out to the car. Talk about bad timing. Waiting for the roads to clear so I can go back out there with a jack and get the wheel off to take a look

If it is a pebble or something in the pad you'll be able to tell pretty easily without putting it in the air. As mentioned above, check for grooving on the rotor surface. Turn the wheel all the way to the right so you can poke your head into the wheel well to get a look at the back side of the rotor too (since it could be on that side).
