So I took the path of simplifying the Base 2.0 MT.
The short shifter and the black trim for the steering wheel are the GT4 parts. Speakers left in place since the parking sensors do work without PCM just fine.
As predicted I haven’t turned the music on since my base Cayman was new for a seven months already 🤣 I never do. So it’s about getting rid of the unused stuff. Not about shaving off the weight. Although leather interior is slightly lighter thanks to hollow panels instead of the foam filled plastic ones.
The trim panels in black leather are optional and specced with the car. The PCM deletion was the part of the plan from the beginning. Here is the photoshopped image made out of the images taken from the configurator prior to placing the order

I really like the direction forevermanual is headed. Some truths are universal across all classes and makes of automobiles. Lighter makes for better handling. When the top goes down, the price goes up. The rareness increases desirability. So, like the classic 356 Speedster, this build he envisions is going in the right direction.
