Default Stuck in Baltimore

Base 718 supposedly in V300 status but dealer says it is in Baltimore awaiting software. It has supposedly been in Baltimore for several weeks. V300 status as far as I know means the car is built and is at the factory awaiting truck shipment to Emden. Seems to me if it is in Baltimore it should be U002 status not V300. Something sounds amiss. Anyone heard of anything similar?

Is your car a Model Year 2022? All the early MY22 718s (including my '22 CGTS) are sitting in Baltimore waiting for EPA/CARB certification, which is expected to hold them up for another month (until around 10/1). Get a picture of the build sheet from your sales advisor - that'll give you the exact location. Some earlier cars were missing chips required for the TPMS; that would be another reason for the car to be held at port, as Porsche legally cannot sell a car without functioning TPMS.

It is a 2022 ordered on 4/21/2021. I requested a copy of the build sheet but it does not show current location.

Hmm, that would be a remarkably fast turn-around! Many of us are waiting 6-9 months for their cars (in my case, I'm currently at 10 months, but I deal with a smaller dealer).

On your build status, does it show an "Actual Date" for V300 (Vehicle completion), V331 (Entry port Emden), or V332 (Exit port Emden)? My last picture of the build status shows these as 7/19/22, 7/20/22, and 7/30/22. My car arrived in Baltimore on 8/12, where it sits in purgatory.

So sorry. I was at the beach and saw a Hoegh carrier go by around that date…hmmm… I guess it will be there until EPA clears it for emissions. When my 992 came in to RI, my friend in the Boston area went to see her car unload at the harbor and took photos. Then she drove up to the gate and asked to go in to take photos of her car in the lot, and they let her in. She got photos of her car and mine. She wanted to take more, but somebody else saw her in there and told her she wasn’t allowed in there and had to leave.
