Default Max camber -.78 ? What could be up ?

Just got the alignment done on my CPO 18 Cayman . The max front camber they could get into the right was -.78 , I was expecting -1.3 / -1.5 about . The left started at -1.12 . They ended up evening them out.

What could be up with that ? probably just have to get some camber plates I suppose .

the shop said either something got tweaked , or it was just built that way.

On my stock GTS I was about to get -1.4 front and -1.8 rear but it has PASM-S so lowered 20mm. If you're car is at the stock height that could be affecting the maximum camber settings. Lowering your car will add camber. I am now down to about -35mm with LCAs and camber plates and have -3.5 front and -3 rear so the platform definitely benefits from camber plates and/or LCAs.

Are you sure you know if your shop is competent ? Did you watch them loosen the struts and push them inward ?

The max that the dealer could get for the fronts was -1.8 for my '21 GT4 which is fine. (I was looking for -2.0+)

Plates are not to be used on 718s (at least not on GT4s/Spyders) per Porsche alert.

Service bulletin/manual quote: Front-axle camber setting: The camber adjustment on the front axle on the Cayman GT4/Spyder is performed only via the supporting mount. The intermediate plates -Arrow- on the 2-part wishbone must not be changed, as this can result in an impermissible wheel overlap at the wheel housing.
