Photo DIY: Brake Bleeding Procedure INCLUDING ABS Circuit
Since it was 'that time-o-year' for me to do my Annual Brake Bleeding Procedure? I thought I would post the DIY.
Yes, Yes.... I understand Porsche says 'Every *TWO* years'?? I do Annual Brake Fluid flushes, given my Super-High Humidity/Heat environment. Overkill? Perhaps, but Cheap Insurance for me. Plus? It yields a nice Bonding experience with my cars.
There may be better/cheaper fluids out there? But? Since she is still under Warranty, I am using OEM brake fluid.
I'm sure there are plenty of Brake Pressure Bleeding tools out there, but I love my Old Klunker ATE unit, which prevents ANY air from getting into the Circuit, plus, it allows a constant 2 Bars of pressure, while remaining portable.
You will need AT LEAST 2 Liters of Brake fluid in order to accomplish the 'Preliminary' Flushing of the Main Brake Lines, *BEFORE* Flushing the ABS Circuit. The Logic being: " You don't want to get any of the OLD fluid which is in the Reservoir/Master Cylinder/Lines to get directed into the ABS Circuit. Only Open the ABS pathways after there is CLEAN fluid in the system."
