If I were to order, I'd probably go for the T.
I'm curious, why APR and not Cobb?

Although I have nothing against Cobb as I had their tune on my old STi and on my current Macan, APR went to great lengths on research & development on the 718. They bought a GTS and sensor tested, track tested, and dyno tested the heck out of it. They threw in a punch of extra safety parameters too. They did a Facebook live post explaining it all and I was thoroughly impressed. It may have been just a marketing move but it worked for me. I had APR on my old GTI and was very satisfied with the results. Only complaint I had was the clunky map changing interface but if you are a set it and forget person, APR just sold me more on their development efforts. Cobb has a super user friendly platform and best if you plan to pro-tune but I'm not.

Well, I picked up my "new to me" 2018 Cayman S Manual yesterday.

Glad I did and can happily confirm the following:

1) power/torque is best I ever experienced (note: this is the fastest engine I ever owned)
2) Handling. It's a Porsche. Chassis feels very much dialed into the road.
3) PASM 20MM/Sport Chrono /Torque Vectoring...all add to the handling and enjoyment
4) Sound: Not sure what all the fuss is about. Coming from a 2.7 L with PSE; the sound on this in Sport mode is outstanding. My friend recorded me driving away and I can confirm sounds glorious in my opinion.

No regrets....

I'm also very excited to feel the power/torque difference. I've upgraded my 2006 Base Boxster to a 2019 CPO Boxster S (delivery at the first of May as per my request), now I just need to sell the 06

I just went from on '06 Cayman to a base '18 and the performance improvement in daily driving is significant. I'm sure you'll really be smiling with the extra 50hp the S will give you over my car.

I have to echo Pros North's comments on the sound. I don't understand the fuss. I even disconnected the soundaktor to see what everyone was going on about. If anything, the sound is better without it, so I left it disconnected.

Congratulations on your purchase! Turbo 4 is a fantastic engine.

The 2.5T is a fantastic engine, huge torque
Stage 1 turns into a missile !
I'm working to develop headers upgrade looking for that hight pitch sound from de STI.
If works, it will be an even better car.

17195376[/url]]Hello all.

I'm considering making a move to a 718 Cayman GTS or S.

Understand I am going from the 6cyl naturally aspirated to 4 cyl turbo. I thouroughly enjoy the 2.7 L with PSE, sounds beaiutiful. But I am craving a little more power/torque.

Any thoughts or advice appreciated.....
I was going from a Base 981 Cayman which I sold because my GTS 4.0 was on the boat. The
GTS 4.0 is subject to the stop sale for connecting rods. I figure that will take months. So I bought a 2016 981 GTS with 15,000 miles as a stop gap. It’s an amazing upgrade compared to the Base 981. Consider that if you want an upgrade and more horsepower. I’m not going to pass on my GTS 4.0 if they fix the issue but the 981 GTS makes me wonder if I should.

I tell everyone the 718S is the underdog in the line up

A nice used 1 owner with low miles and still under warranty will save you a bunch of money.

just adding exhaust, air filter, 3rd radiator and APR 93tune will get you 410hp to the rear wheels.
