I don't have an answer for you, but it seems it is either Cobb or APR. My guess is most people are going to wait until their warranty expires before tuning their 718s.

I know you didn't ask this, but I can highly recommend the APR stage 1 tune I had on my 2018 Boxster GTS.

Based on the research I've done, I'm leaning towards APR. APR did a load of on track sensor testing. I currently have a Cobb tune on my Macan GTS and had a Cobb tune on my WRX STi, but had an APR tune on my GTI so I'm not dedicated to either brand in particular. I'm not waiting on my warranty to expire, just waiting on APR's next sale.

I'm looking at this for my S, were you pleased overall?

There are fans of both. Cobb's advantage is that you can change tunes yourself with their hand-held tuner, and you can have a "pro tune" done by one of their tuners that'll tune your car for your specific mods and operating environment. APR's tune currently requires installation by one of their authorized dealers, so no easy switching between tunes, but APR has been promising customer-downloadable tunes for a while now. Also, folks who have driven both tunes say that APR's tune is slightly more powerful than the Cobb out-of-the-box tune, and more like a Cobb pro tune. Really, you can't go wrong with either tune.

All good points. Cobb's Accessport also lets you remove the tune and recoup a large portion of the purchase price through resale of the device as well.

While it might not be showing the biggest numbers, I personally would be interested in the Burger Tuning JB4. Quick install and when you remove it leaves no trace. They have a great reputation with the BMW crowd. I might try it at some point between autocrosses. https://burgertuning.com/collections...jb4-tuner-beta

A gentle reminder that there's no such thing as "leaving no trace" with tuners. All modern ECUs keep logs of sensor values, and tunes will push some of those values beyond what the OEM tune will allow, so it will be readily evident that a tune was installed at some point.

Some true. I know in other applications with the JB4 that is not the case. I haven't used it on a Porsche so I don't know for fact if it does or does not just its the only one that doesnt alter the ECU itself.

I have a Cobb Tune for my 2018 718 GTS and am currently getting it pro-tuned by BBi along with a Soul Performance Catless down-pipe. I'll give everyone the before / after dyno once it is done (which should be this week). I ran the Cobb OTS tune on several tracks and was very happy- zero issues overheating, etc. and the car just pulled at all times. I was chasing down a 991.1 GTS on Big Willow all day and even on the straight he didn't pull away hard (def. pulled but didn't "walk away") - eventually was given the PB at Turn 2.
