Just bought my car brand new in January of this year (~6 mo ago) and my car’s telling me that I’m due for service in 2 weeks. I have about 4,100 miles on it. Is it an error? The car had 64 miles on it when I got it.

Thanks!

The car will post the service warning for one year from the delivery date to dealer (or build date, I forget which) regardless of how much or little it's been driven and when it was put in use. You can ignore it and drive for a year or 10k miles from delivery (20k miles in UK, not sure why the difference). You don't need service. I had the exact same thing (718CS built in July 2017 purchased 1/18, service warning came on 7/18 at 5k miles).

Oh wow, that's almost an identical situation! I contacted the dealer, they offered to reset the computer. Thanks!

I think Porsche recommends the oil be changed within 1 year of it being put in the car, at any mileage from 0-12k. Sooner if you hit 12k before 1 year.

Respectfully disagree. I've never seen anything from Porsche that supports this. I get it that it might make sense if a car sits for years, but not the scenario here, which is common as many dealer ordered cars sit on the lot for several months. What's your source/proof?
