Default PPI Needed with CPO?

Just curious if others would recommend a PPI for a car still under factory warranty and has CPO warranty that runs until 2023? I'm looking at a car that has all the service records. When I called the local dealer (the one nearest the seller) they pulled up the VIN and the SA said oh this is XXXX car it was just in here in April for the intermediate service. Then she went on to tell me all the service history when they CPO'd it etc. Also mentioned they just installed a clear bra on the front and mirrors. I'm 4 hours away from the car and usually will only get a PPI on cars that have no warranty. I have missed out on a few 718 Cayman's in the past week and this one is spec'd nicely.

I'd get at least a DME scan if it's a manual.
And know, CPO is not perfect. Many threads on things that get passed.

Short answer: Yes. Definitely if buying out of local area.

Yes. I had a PPI done on a CPO car and it found a lot of dings, scratches and even bumper damage that the dealer said did not exist. Get a PPI. It's a pain, but it's worth it.

If you're 4 hours away, I would be comfortable with getting a DME report and doing a physical inspection in person. But I still think getting a PPI is a good idea. It can give you an idea of how the car was used, was it on track, are suspension components worn, etc. Best of luck.

Yes, CPO is a joke.
For example, aftermarket parts and prior collisions are not excluding criteria for CPO.

Thanks all. The car is scheduled for a PPI on Friday.
