Default Widest Tires to fit on stock 718 GTS wheels?

Assuming the stock 20”
Front - 8 x 20 ET 57 - 235/35 ZR 20 (88Y)
Rear - 10 x 20 ET 45 - 265/35 ZR 20 (95Y)

I have 18” Titan7s for the track and can fit
265/35
295/30

Can I do 265/30 + 305/30 on the 20” on the GTS without rubbing?

The front wheel is the main limiter as 8” is not very wide. A 265 tire will not fit on an 8” wheel. 245 is the widest you can go in front.

For the rear a 285 section fits best on a 10” wheel. A 295 would fit although not ideal. However, I believe there is a Mercedes spec tire which is 295 but designed for a 10” wheel (the AMG E63 tire).

For the stock setup, be aware that not all 245 front tires will fit. My shop tried to get RE71-R to fit but they couldn't. I'm going to try Sport Cup 2s next time with 245 in the front (narrowest 20" sport cup 2) and 285 in the rear. I've heard success with Sport Cup 2s from other people but it still takes some effort to get the tire on.

What do you mean by couldn’t get it to fit? Like couldn’t get it mounted on the wheel or once mounted it was rubbing?

honestly the setup with the stock wheels is embarrassing. 245/265 is way too thin. I slapped on 18” Titan7s and was able to easily clear calipers, slap on 265/295 and massively improved the handling (I think I could prob do 275/305 too).

I have a 2019 718 S with 20" carrera s wheels and am thinking 245/285.

Would there be any rubbing?
