I'm guessing being mid-engine, the dyno shop couldn't get to a place to attach the wire for the tach signal. As long as the same dyno is used with the same settings, results should be comparable.

Close to what Porsche states. May be a little more for liability reasons. Or you can choose to drink the Kool-aid and believe the financially motivated rumor spreaders whose dynos can be manipulated to read whatever makes you happy. Some other dynos just happened to read high for calibration/setting reasons. That is why dynos should be used to measure incremental gains after each modifications under as similar conditions as possible.

The X-Axis represents time not RPM.

Porsche absolutely doesn’t underrate their motors at all. In fact, they’ve said publicly that they bench test every motor and if it comes out +-5% of the published spec, it gets pulled off the line and broken down to figure out why.

BMW on the other hand absolutely does.
