Default Must drives with my new Cayman

Not here yet but a man can dream can't he? I live in NEO and am looking for suggestions for the must drives. Oh and they are not restricted to the local area. I will be putting miles on this car. I do want to do the coast highway in California, wine country in New York, Oregon and Washington for starters. Plus I have daughters living in NH and Wisconsin. I see retirement and some major mileage road trips in my future.

For roads in California, this thread has many of the best driving roads around the SF Bay area:

I would also suggest legends such as Highway 70, which Road and Track used for 2020 Performance car of the year and Hecker Pass Highway, CA 152.

First place I went after getting my Cayman was Highway 33 north out of Ojai, CA. Course I live in SoCal so that was an easy call.

We're packed solid with good stuff in east Tennessee, west North Carolina, and north Georgia. And close to you, I've always heard good things, but have no first hand experience, with south east Ohio.

I do backpacking on the AT so I definitely have experienced some of the roads in your area. Tail of the Dragon in a Toyota Camry was not fun. I am thinking it will be a lot more fun in the Cayman

For more local areas that you could hit regularly:

East side (Heading towards Akron gives you some elevation changes at least)
Riverview Rd. (in the metroparks): https://www.google.com/maps/dir/41.3...a=!4m2!4m1!3e0 - only 35mph-40mph(* if you want) speed limit
There are many more around this area that are great drives (if you're willing to risk any speed) - but still scenic at the speed limit.

West side (very empty roads, and speed limit 45-55mph)
Highway 252 (a large portion of this is freshly paved blacktop within the past couple years - very smooth): https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Gibb...d41.192527!3e0

Nelsonville / Athens, OH (SE of Columbus)
https://www.google.com/maps/@39.4241...3308732,11.25z
This is the "Hocking Hills" region and there are tons of good routes here.

Trying to have fun with a sports car in Ohio has to be a challenge. Your Highway Parol troopers are about as anti speed as it comes. No sense of humor at all, real by the book guys.

Good Luck.

Just get out into amish country (anywhere outside of a city) where there are no cops then

Rarely see any where I live in South East Texas. Closest Porsche dealership is 100 miles S, N, or W. Probably has something to do with it.
