Default help on bluetooth streaming audio

so I just picked up a 19 CS with the base stereo (gasp), and with carplay. using carplay is fantastic. I had it in my last car and don't think i'd buy a car without it, but for the quick trips i want to leave my phone in my pocket, IS there bluetooth streaming audio?? I can't seem to find it. If i go to media, the only thing there is a button for jukebox and that's not it. thanks in advance for the help!

Have you paired the phone to car?

I am going to be in a similar situation when my Boxster arrives. I have CarPlay in my 911, but I rarely use it because I prefer to connect via Bluetooth. Once it's paired, it starts to steam music from my phone when I get in the car, and I don't have to touch the phone or the car stereo. I ordered the Boxster with a base stereo and without CarPlay assuming this is going to work like in the 911, so it would be have someone confirm that does.

That would be a setting in your phone then (I think).
When pairing a device, it requests pairing media audio as well as call audio + contacts. Even after pairing, you should be able to (in your phone's bluetooth settings) enable media audio permissions.

After that, it's under the Media button on the dash where you select bluetooth.

ok, VERY stupid solution. . .

I was pressing the MEDIA button and expecting to find the bluetooth audio. I had to go to the SOURCE button and choose bluetooth then back to the MEDIA button to access it.

sorry for being an idiot.
