Autoweek is reporting that Porsche does not plan to offer the 718 T here in North American.

718T has already been listed on EPA & CARB submissions.
I’m taking that article with a bag of salt.

Car and Driver 718 T write-up:
https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews...ayman-t-drive/
It specifically mentions a US-spec version of each at the end of the article, so I’m optimistic that we’ll get the 718 T here.

Autoblog is also confirming that the 718 Ts will come to the US as a 2020 model.

"With a very solid take rate for the manual transmission, said to be around 50 percent, Porsche continues to give its customers a choice between the six-speed manual and the seven-speed dual-clutch PDK. The manual comes with a rev-matching function, but unfortunately, it can't be switched off — a shame, because for me, it distracted from what a slick, joyful thing the manual is."
So for me personally, I think I would just go PDK due to rev-matching not being able to be turned off. With auto rev-matching, it's halfway an automatic anyway.

I'm lazy and didn't read the article. But when I bought my 718CS MT in 2017, cars without Sport Chrono (like mine) have no rev matching. Is this the same with the T? (Or does the T only come with SC?)
Regardless, it seems to me that Porsche *not* providing a way to disable rev matching -- in whatever config or model you buy -- is just a Big Mistake.

Ugh, the fact that this is coming as a 2020 model makes me think a non-GT/Spyder, NA6 cayman may not ever happen.

Porsche just needs to have a dedicated button for the rev match function. Allow the car to be in whatever mode and rev match is independent. I wonder if a reflash with Cobb AP could allow the rev match function to be separated from drive mode. Nissan did it right when they just had a button to turn on/off rev match when they introduced the technology in 2009.

This is a big miss in my opinion from Porsche. I want to be able to turn off rev-match with press of a button:
"With a very solid take rate for the manual transmission, said to be around 50 percent, Porsche continues to give its customers a choice between the six-speed manual and the seven-speed dual-clutch PDK. When the 718 first came out, some of us 981 owners inquired of new 718 owners if rev matching could be disabled in Sport + by turning off PSM and IIRC the response was yes.
Now I have no idea about the T and whether the same holds true, but I would suspect that it does and I'm wondering if it is possible that the reviewer is simply not aware of this relatively unknown "work around" to deactivate rev matching by disabling PSM. Just a hunch and I could be totally wrong.
+ 1 I like this idea.

Hmmm. I was under the impression rev matching is activated only in Sport + mode on the 718. Didn't know it is activated on a 718 in Sport as well. And, again, per above, I'm under the impression from the response of some early 718 owners that rev matching can be deactivated in Sport + mode by turning off PSM. Can someone just confirm these two points so I can determine if my recollection in this regard is flawed or not. Trying to keep all my 718 facts straight! Thanks.
I had a 981GTS and Sport would not turn on rev matching but Sport+ would.
I was told, and read, that a 718 with Sport Chrono it works in Sport and Sport+. My girlfriends 718 doesn't have Sport Chrono so I can't test it. Now I'm curious to have this confirmed as well. And apologize in advance if I'm wrong.
I too would appreciate a separate button just for turning this on/off. Problem solved.
