Default HRE wheels

Anyone used them before?
Would a 8.5” wheel width fit well on a 718 gts that is supposed to have 8” stock wheel in the front?
The rear HRE wheel is 10”; same as stock rear.
If it makes any difference, the 2 models I’m considering are RC 100 and RC 103.
I plan on using stock tires, MPS4.

rep says he’s done this a bunch of times w/ no issues.

I believe all 20" wheel options that Porsche offers in the configurator for the GTS, except for the stock wheels, are 8.5 for the fronts.

The 20 inch carrera Sports rims (Currently offered for 718 and 911 991.2) are 8.5x20 on the fronts. So should Not be a problem.

Yes, HRE wheels have been done many times before across all generations and model of Cayman. We can certainly do an 8.5" wide and 10" wide and it will fit the car beautifully. I really like your choices of the RC100 and RC103 because they are HRE's 2nd most lightweight wheel options. It may also be worth considering the new RC104 from the same series that just debuted last week at the Rennsport Reunion get together. Here at Wheels Boutique we are HRE's largest dealer in the world and would love to work with you on this to guarantee that you get the fitment & look you want + best pricing.

I track my 718 GTS; the stock tires on the 20s are horrendous (MPS4s) - I cant get 2 full days out of them at the track without them shredding to pieces. I run Cup 2s on my RS and get dramatically better wear. As a result,.I ordered and already have the new HRE RC104s in 19s (down from stock 20s) mounted and ready to go with Cup 2s. I am picking up the car next week and can post pics and let you know how they feel at the track, as I will be heading straight to the track mid-week to test them out!

Thanks for all the responses.

David, I was looking at RC 100 and 103.
What are the differences between those and your new 104?

Disden, I was thinking of keeping 20” and also going w RC 100/3/4.
Do you feel 19” performs ‘better’ than 20”?
Also what do you think about Pirelli P0 N1 compared to your cup 2’s?

The only differences between the RC100, RC103, and RC104's is the styling. All three are built from the same forgings so their weight is almost identical (within ounces of each other). The decision for you really comes down to which you think looks best: mesh (RC100), multispoke (RC103), or split 5-spoke (RC104).

Like the looks; will take to track in a few days. I went with 19s so I could run Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s.

plus, they are lighter then stock 20s and gain 0.5 inch on each wheel. Win win.

Loving the setup. Such an underrated wheel series from HRE. These should move more now after a few members see them on yours.

Hi,

I'm also considering a set of 19" RC104s for my Cayman and wondering if you would mind answering a couple of questions? What offset did you get, and why? And, did you by chance weigh them?

Thanks.

Looks really clean and sharp. Is that Charcoal or Satin Charcoal?

David - will the 18" RC103's fit a base 718?

Thanks

The finish above is Satin Black. The RC103's will fit a base 718 in 18" as long as you don't have an aftermarket big brake kit installed.

Do you mind sharing the wheel and tire specs? I'm assuming you went with 19x8.5 and 19x10.5, and if so, good choice. What offset are these? What tire size?

The Flow Forms work well as a street rim (saving the stock rims for track use):
