Default Introducing Myself

Hi everyone...I’ve owned 3 M3’s in a row, and late last year got into a 2018 Audi S4. Plans are underway to get into a 718 next year, so looking forward to learning all about this platform. Thx!

Welcome, Steve! Sounds like the 718 will be your first Porsche. As a mid-engine fanatic, I don't think you could do any better. As you get closer to pulling the trigger, don't hesitate to ask questions.

Thanks for the warm welcome! What I need to figure out for myself is am I ok driving a pretty flashy car...I prefer to drive cars that have great performance but a bit more under the radar...but it is so tempting (and a dream of mine) to own a mid engine near supercar.

My previous cars have always been 'modest'. Now I'm in a Racing Yellow Boxster and loving it.

It isn't really a supercar--just the best sport car in it's class (and possibly more).

You will love the 718. Those 2 you mentioned are not sports cars in any way. 718 is a different world...

You'll get over the flashy car thing. There are are a lot more expensive/flashy cars out there. All that really matters is that you like it.

I ordered my 718 Boxster in April. It is my first Porsche. I jumped from BMW 328, and being a BMW fan for years. The mid engine Boxster is my dream car. I order GT Silver and find she blends in. I was almost ordering an M2 to keep under the radar, but I am very pleased with the Boxster. If you order allow 5-7 months for delivery. Porsche builds less vehicles than BMW and allocations take time depending on dealer. BMW order process is 5 weeks solid and easy to work with. Porsche requires more patience. Ordered Apr 11, Locked Jul 5, built Jul 12, received late Sep.

I’m on my 7th Porsche, but have had many cars outside the “family”; M3s, RS4, S4, Z06, C63... let me just say, THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE. ;-)

And welcome!
