Default New 718 Cayman Owner

Been lurking her a while as I have shopped Porsche the past year. Sold my BMW F80 about a year ago with the plan to get a CPO 911 in the $80k range but ultimately migrated to 981 Cayman S shopping after a comparison test drive. In a perfect world I'd take a 911 and a Cayman but car for the money really pushed me toward the Cayman S. The mid-engine feel really connected with me. While shopping It occurred to me why not test drive the 718. The combination of that test drive and the Chalk color sold me on a new 718. (Sure sound is important but it aint top 3 for me - and the new turbo 4 doesn't sound bad - and the 718 really won the all important butt-dyno for me :-) Personally I like the torque of a turbo engine so to all those who are haters on that front (I hear what's important to you and we just see and feel things differently and thats ok. I love your car too ;-) Obligatory picture below

After 12 years of BMW ownership the remaining 135i is now the rainy day car. Still love that car

Did some garage redecorating for the new arrival

Love every line on this car and the new Chalk color!

Congratulations. Nice cars and garage. Where'd you get the Porsche plaque on the wall?

Found that on eBay a few years back.

Congrats! Looks great in Chalk! I, too, sold my F80 for a Cayman; albeit a 981 2.7L 6mt but I'm still a big fan of the 718. I am definitely considering one after this.

The 135 is a rocket. So much fun! Great tandem you have and the garage turned out great.

Congrats,

I moved from an e92 335i to a Cayman S and havent looked back.

I still have a soft spot for 1 series though; hope to have one in my garage as well.

I’ve been a BMW fan boy since 2000, the E46 was my gateway to BMW and every once since seemed to fall short but 135i is one of my all time favorite platforms and closed to E46. My F80 was a great car but was never passionate about it as I hoped I’d be. The 718 has really hooked me and don’t ever foresee moving away from it. Such a complete pleasure all the way around.
