Has anyone done any modification to sun visor on boxster 718.

I would like the sun visor to swivel sideways similar to cayman models.

Is there any modification or after market solution ?

Not an easy one at any rate.
Disassembly shows that the pivot arms inside the frame bind on the roof latches.

I've started this one. I cut a bit of the inboard clip away to let the visor be detached. I think I clipped too much so I ordered another part (just a few bucks). Then I'll pop off the outboard cover (~3" x 4") and remove (I hope) the visor, bend the steel arm down a bit, and replace. I think this will work. Stay tuned.

what type of star torx drive is the bolt that goes into the window frame? mm size?

Don't you just hate it when someone starts something and never follows up?! My Spyder driver's side sun visor popped out today and I want to fix it, but if I can do something to allow it to swivel to the side, just as the Cayman allows, it would be great - anyone tackle this, and complete it successfully?

For some reason to do with the convertible top the visor is locked in and cant swivel. Zee germans decided the most logic is in this.

I fixed my visor by taking out the clip on the header and was able to put the rod holder back on and then reinstalled the clip.
