Headlights
Been busy and had to take a break from working on my 81. Got a bit of time now for it and have decided I hate my stock headlamps. They are just plain pitiful for a super car. What solutions are currently available that offer an improvement on the stock beams without breaking the bank. I'm looking at the HID kits on ebay but I've read some posts that say that's not the way to go. Are the 8" H4's worth the money? Are they that much better? I'd also like a white or blue beam instead of the old weak yellow that the headlights currently put out. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Don't go to HID if you haven't already converted to H4's (hideous results...).
Once you install H4's with Silverstars in 80/100W you will never yearn for HID again...
not even for the color...
Are they that much better - yes they really are... worth it - I think everyone who has done the upgrade thinks so... (are the cheap "ebay H4's" worth it... no not at all - garbage compared to the real thing)
Change the fog & driving lights to silverstars too (just to match colors)
If you really can't afford 8" H4's the next best thing is 7" H4's
Are the 8" H4's worth the money? Are they that much better?
Yes, and Yes. We live in a place where it gets dark at night and have H4's with 80/100w lamps in both cars. Works good.
(Buy new--- used ones are often funky, and funky isn't bright).

What is it I have now a sealed beam? The H4's use replacement bulbs correct? If I bought H4's I would be better off because I could use a better bulb like the silverstars correct?
He only works via email but knows his stuff better than just about anyone and his prices are excellent. He only sells the real deal, no knockoffs, and I guarantee it will fit perfectly and the lighting is just amazing. I bought my 7" E-code Cibies from him, with the stock wattage H4 bulbs and the improvement is dramatic. I don't need those high-wattage bulbs and he'll tell you the same thing - the reflector design is much more important than wattage, and the Cibies are the best. Besides I actually prefer my Cibies with the chrome trim ring!
