Want to share the link with a rennlister who must have been in the garage the day it was posted?

Even if the thread started about something for sale by a non-sponsor, simply delete the first post, if the rest of the discussion was interesting. Just make a template to copy and paste into any inappropriate posting. Something like this:

Pasting something like that into any inappropriate post, is a lot more fair that deleting the entire thread, along with all the perfectly legitimate posts of paying members that did not violate any rules. I think that's what pisses people off the most. When you delete an entire thread, you are deleting the posts of people who did nothing wrong. So you **** off a bunch of people, rather than just targeting the person who broke the rules...

+1

Mods on other forums do this all the time.

You know what, this is really all i am asking for. More defined rules on what is and isnt ok, and that you edit a thread if you have to but dont simply remove it.

I think that can be done and not cause any issues.

It sure seems like some of the people commenting in this thread either missed, don't remember, or are ignoring some threads in the past, and also some things said by a few people who aren't here anymore. I'm not just talking about one particular person, or one type of product or service in those instances either.

Its not the moderating that gets people, sometimes thats obviously necessary. Its the 'scorched earth' approach to moderating that sets people off and is a waste of potentially useful (or not) information.

Well I was looking for just the site not the specific video that was done back then, I figure that one is gone into the ether by now.

But it was funny...

If I can say Ossam bin Laddin, Satan, AutoZone, Sauron, WalMart and Voldemort I should be able to say John Kuhn or Mark Robinson without making the rennlist mods go into gestapo mode.

OK, here's why -

John Kuhn was banned from Rennlist due to repeated actions by him that warranted that banning. You want the details, do some research.

Since then, his brother has physically threatened me in email communications, with John Kuhn serving Rennlist with a cease-and-desist order for instances where folks here said something negative about him and/or his products and we 'allowed' that to take place because we did not censure that dialogue.

We have taken an approach going forward that any and all threads discussing John Kuhn and his products will be deleted.

The next person to do so will be given a time-out for an extended period of time.

Now you know.

Closed.
