Default 1960 356b 12v conversion question

Hello, today I was working on a 1960 356B and had a strange occurrence. The wipers suddenly decided to go full speed and will not turn off without pulling the fuse. Does anyone have an idea what we should look for? Could it be the voltage regulator from the 6 to 12 hour conversion or could be something else? I normally only work on my 928 so the 356 world is new to me.

So further research into the life of this car shows it probably had a voltage reducer of some kind put on the wiper motor and it died.

Thoughts.

I did notice this forum doesn't get the traffic anywhere near what the 928 forum does.

One of the most useful 356 books I have owned and used is Joe Leoni's electrical diagrams and troubleshooting tips. You can buy it here: http://blocks-books.com/BLOCKS-BOOKS/356Electrics.html. Highly recommended!

I've posted below the two pages from the book dealing with wipers, not sure they will solve your problem.

It's very quiet here. The go-to forum for 356's is the Porsche 356 Registry.

Thanks!! Going to take out the 6v armature and put in a 12v. Apparently the motor is going so fast it blows by the park setting. Should be able to solve that with a 12v winding to cut speed in half.

Voltage reducer from Zims sounds a lot easier:

Great vendor, BTW.

Does it have windings? Chart above says permanent magnet motor (no field windings) - ??
