Default Installing a Windshield Washer Nozzle in a 356C

I'd like to know the trick to installing the Windshield Washer Nozzle (Pelican part # 914-628-203-10-M78). I've damaged two now trying to get them through the hole. I've tried having someone push down while I pull and work it from the backside pulling with a pair of pliers and a small screwdriver, however I end up damaging the rubber on the back so it leaks before I can get the shoulder/lip to the inside of the hole.

Yes 2 person job. I used dish soap and a dental pick from below with someone pushing from above. It also helps if you heat the rubber up to make it more supple. I just put it in water in the microwave to heat.
