Guy wants $225K Is there value here or is this top market price? I am a 911 guy, so don't see these very often. I do know good cars, and this is def one of those. Black plate car!

I know 54 was the first year, maybe considered pre-A, I don't know if it's the standard 1500 or the Super.

Thanks for any input. This would be an investment, so it needs to come with value. Many Thanks
first year , hardtop (original ??) seems like its in the ballpark - but condition is super important - does it have matching numbers (not a big issue )

40 year owner is good.
Private or Dealer?

I would offer $200k to help with a repaint at some point.

"does it have matching numbers (not a big issue ) "

Rubbish. At this end of the market matching numbers will be a big issue at resale time.

Here is the for sale information on the car: Hope it's not priced too low.

1954 Pre A Speedster $285,000

I am selling this for a friend. I have authorization to post this car and field questions.

The current owner is second from new. He purchased the car from a local Doctor back in the 60's and he has owned and loved the car ever since, nearly 50 years. This is a color change from White to Signal Red and was done in the 70's by a local shop well know for their work. The motor and chassis match. The transmission was changed in the 60's by the factory and is noted on the COA, so all numbers do match.

The car is in incredible condition! The paint was done locally and was done to a very high standard. The motor was cleaned up, undercarriage cleaned and protected with black protectant. Car sits on 16's color matched as you can see, and includes a period Glaspar top which was the better of the 2 hardtop options back in the day. It's always been a California car purchased at a local dealer in California and has always been garaged. No rust, that I have been able to locate. A truly outstanding piece of Porsche history.

76,000 original miles
Numbers matching motor and chassis (Trans was replaced by Porsche in 1963 and is disclosed in the COA)
Soft top recently re-done to a very high standard. All side curtains included
Comes with Fiberglass Glaspar hardtop with side and rear panels and hardware complete
55HP 1500 Normal motor
Interior Black leatherette
Only option from the factory is "Odometer in miles"
Reuter Bodied car
Front bumper guards are off car but included, slightly damaged
Front air grilles replaced
Rear bee hive lights are later model. Originals in a box and come with car
Deco strips replaced, still has original aluminum strips in garage
Muffler was changed to a Bursch back in the day, was that way when he bought it
Original tool kit

If you are interested please PM me through this site and I will share what I know. My name is Chris. Thanks for looking and for your interest.

Being a 911 guy myself, I have to agree, but there is a strong market for these, especially in this condition. I am learning a lot, quickly

Super nice 912's are now getting 40 to 60k. As I have one that's nice. Ridiculous yes! Clean 74 911 pre smog normals 35 to 40. 18 months ago 15. I'm in Denver and saw a 73 RS purchased for 750 ish and sold less than a year later for 1 million. It appears reason has gone out the window.

Trying to understand what happened here. Purchased at $225,000 sold at $285,000. This seems reasonable to me. Good job.

California longhoods are going up at that rate too. Cars that were $30K are now $60K and even $80K if you market them to the old world.
