Perhaps you know, but perhaps you don't. In addition to being a very cool car, it is very valuable. North of $100K. To preserve value, don't do any more modifications like those mirrors. (Holes in the fenders.)

Three Wheelin'
indeed
unfortunately, this was a common practice when the cars weren't worth much. I had the same thing on my speedster. Also change the coil to black like original

I sold my late friends 60 Roadster owned since he bought it as a race car with roll bar in 1972.Restored in 1995. Not worth nearly as much as yours but I got 130K for it 2 years ago. Assuming an S engine Hagerty says 115K good, 194K excellent , 250K Concours. Rare 1 owner with low mileage? Is paint original? Then a survivor car. Get it appraised. Worth the cost.

40K miles, 1 owner, original paint? Normal, Super or S90 original motor? No rust, never been hit? $200K at least. My own view is that appraisals aren't worth much.

Burning Brakes
If that's original paint, collectors will pay top dollar for it, but the paint looks almost too good to be true. If it has been repainted, was red the original color? It has Super/S90 hubcaps. Definitely not a S90 engine. Red/black is a good color combination, although is seems like some of the less common colors such as dark blue and grey over red bring the most money these days. I don't recall the inserts on the face of the steering wheel being painted back. The door sill covers with the big "356B" definitely need to go before the car is offered for sale. They are way out of place on an original car.
