Two shops come to mind. In Santa Rosa, there is Dave Merz of Merz Enterprises. Great guy, very knowledgeable and experienced, and totally honest. In San Francisco, there is Alan Klingen of The Stable. Ditto in terms of qualifications.

Are your rims 15" or 16" in diameter? Hope 15", because there are lots more tires to choose from.

A BIG WARNING: If the car has not been driven in several years, the tires and brakes could fail. At speed, the tires could blow or disintegrate. You could kill yourself, others, or destroy the car. Same warning about the brakes. Sorry to be such a killjoy, but the risks are absolutely real.

Use AAA and have it moved on a flat bed. Don't have it towed.

Matt... one of the best 356 restoration and service shops on the planet is in your backyard. Ted Blake Restorations in Sacramento (at 21st Street & 2nd Ave.). I have known Ted for more than 30 years and can personally tell you he is an expert in all things 356, honest and very reasonable to deal with. He has been working on these cars since they were new and can give your 356 the proper service it deserves. His shop number is 916-455-5010.
Also, 356CAR (Calif. Alta Region) is a very active chapter of the 356 Registry. They have a breakfast meeting on the 2nd Sat. of every month and are quite active in restorations, drives, shows, etc.
Congratulations on owning such a gem!

oh man, that 356 is the stuff dreams are made of!

I would rather drive an unrestored 356 than a restored 356.... the more wear, the better!
