Default Porsche Speedster vs Beck

Looking at purchasing a Beck Speedster. I know what most will say about this, however I do not have $100,000 to invest in a real Porsche speedster. I thought about a 356 Coupe to Speedster Conversion. Not sure if this is even plausable.

Anyway, has anyone on the board driven both and what are your comparisons? Opinions on the differences, similarities, etc.

Thanks Guys.

You can make a ton of searches on this subject. Here's one from the 993 board:

If you go the Replica route, check out http://www.intermeccanica.com/
They are located in Vancouver BC and are the best in the Replica market and also the most expensive.

+1 on Intermeccanica.
They are hand-built, very cool automobiles, which happen to look like vintage Porsches.
In the replica field - IM is the only true builder, as opposed to kit-car maker.

I did...

The original is a perfect old 356...

The replica has that Jacuzzi smell of fiberglass and is as solid as the Jacuzzi bathtub...

Do not invest your money on a replica... get a nice Coupe and enjoy the real thing... at the right time you may find a nice Speedster...

Good luck on your search.

Freddy
