Default Lock mechanism removal from door handle.

Would anyone know the procedure for removing the lock mechanism from the SC AND the Pre-A outside door handles?

I've been poking all of them for a few days now, and managed not to wreck anything, but I haven't made any progress either. I don't want to force anything that isn't meant to just slide out/off/in/etc.

Any help would be REALLY appreciated!

Default Lock Mechanism Dissected

Been there this week in fact.

Remove the cir-clip at the plunger end. Then the lock bolt slides out. The screw in the channel of the lock bolt needs to be removed to re-key by removing the tumbler. The key turns back and forth 90 degrees.... this moves a plate out of the lock bolt...that plate prevents the bolt from being pushed in...now its in the locked position relative to the handle. Turn the key 90 degrees back.... the plate retracts and the bolt can move freely in the handle-unlocked!

Sorry if the nomenclature is confusing but it will make sense once in front of you.

All the best.
