HOLY MOTHER OF DO DOO!!!!
........thats one sharp car!!
..............drop the bumpers (you can always put them back on)..but if you do can you trim back the tail pipes the same amount and not ruin thier value?...if so do so..it will tighten up the rear when it dosnt have a bumper.
LOVE the Red and Black with chrome trim interior...its one of the best color combos iv seen.
All Black cars...damn you like cleaning your cars much?????

ked
I am with you ! ...I prefer it with bars !!! ....but it is for her to drive.....
- yes, widened factory rims
- I had those 3 cars in the one spot at one time, so the pic had to be taken
- Car was originally a 1300A....was restored to Carrera spec including a quad cam !!
It is now running an 1800 big bore.

JoAnne,
most women at least talk to me a couple of times before they come to that conclusion !!

tommytomaso
bumpers are already off ! ....pics soon !
the GT3 isn't mine, but I do have another black 997S - we a re in the middle of a droubt, which makes it even harder to keep clean, and wash :-/

Stunning car. Here, I fixed the only thing that I could find wrong with it.

I've had an outlaw for 15 years. Everyone advised me to keep the bumpers on. I didn't and liked the look for many years. Then the front then rear were in slight fender benders. Or should I say fenderless benders. The damage was far worse than the aesthetic beauty of course in the eye of the beholder, than it would have been with the bumpers. My car is a 63 and your cars bumpers inmho looks better because they fit so close to the body. I am repainting the car and doing the body work to enable me to refit the bumpers, and since I filled all the holes years ago I'll be cutting them out again just to get the bumpers back on.

As everyone has said your car is absolutely beautiful either way.

My wife drove my car numerous times over the years and I'll never forget that call I got at work when she said she didn't have the clutch in all the way and the car jumped forward. Wouldn't have been any big deal except it was sitting under a lift that had the old 930 sitting above it. This particular lift is shaped like a T and has a 4x4 beam dead center in front of the bumperless 356. My wife called crying and I thought the car must me totalled. It wasn't but it sure did have a perfect 4 inch wide boo boo on a once pristine front end. Not 3 months later I'm backing out of the garage on a dark and stormy night and back into my own black car I didn't see. Jeez what a clutz. Minor damage on a once pristine rear end. Both would have had bumper damage only had they been on. Anyway all this is just my 2cents.

stratman,
I agree. So much extra risk with the bumpers off.
I actually prefer the look of the A's ...with their bumpers on !
....but the girl gets what the girls wants

Stunning photos. Perfect subject. I've been looking at the lighting etc etc - care to share what you are using - camera, lens, lights? In places it looks like one bloody long fluro. - but it can't be! You should send some of these to the official Porsche Classic site. Like me, you probably love some of those evocative old-world shots on that site taken, no doubt, with the Rolleiflex. These are a modern re-interpretation of the love of these works of art in metal. Admirable.

Q - thanks for the advice on your set up.

This is the Porsche Classic web page -

http://www.porsche.com/australia/acc...rvice/classic/

scroll down to Classic World - click on that

then click on Models - Road Vehicles

There you have a few choices: just to humour me go to Media Gallery first - there you will see in pic No. 9 a beautiful blue sunroof 1960 B, and the guy about to get his head blown off by the cannon is holding a Rolleiflex! mein gott!

The first of those is of course delicious - a split windshield coupe from the very early 1950s in aged, soft kodachrome by some Moorish port, probably in Spain.

Before you leave the media gallery be sure to go back to pic No. 3 - a lavender C cabriolet, with a colour co-ordinated veil of mist shrouding the trees in the background!

When you have had your fill of that go back to the Road Vehicles page - select the 'type series' 356 and any year that takes your fancy. Be sure to change the selection for Type Series to the A, B and C and the 911 variants. I amuse myself for ages with these nostalgic images. For reasons I can't quite explain my favourite is the 1956 356A.

If you don't get out much and are stuck at home with the check blanket over your knees, you can spend hours at this ;-)

sincerely yours
