i will have a speedster on the block at ebay this weekend.
the numbers match. and the paint shines perfectly
overall this car is in pristine condition.
the engine has been restored and it runs on disk brakes on all corners.
car will be sold for what it's worth. but maybe someone here is interested?

Can you PM me with your desired price?

Is it original paint? Has it been restore & by whom? Who did the engine?

My neighbor is looking for an open 356...a very serious buyer.

Thanks much,

Rick

Would be hard to make a paint shining like that after 50 years!

Beautiful restoration...I'd look for an original hood handle crest to finish with perfection...amazing paint quality by the way! And great panel gaps...

If it is an original 356 it should not have been modified. Why would you put disk brakes on an original car in this condition? I wouldn't use the term restored, I would say refurbished. As for values, heres some info for you. good luck. http://www.356registry.org/MemberSwap/MemberCarsFS.html

Can a regular human fit into a speedster with coupe seats? I've never seen the combo except in this car, but I know they were optional. I would think you would be another inch higher than when sitting in the standard Speedster buckets.

the owner had 356 for the last 3 decades.
during the last few years, he started to have back problems, which made him change the tiny bucket seats to the optional coupe seats, as you said, they are optional to this vehicle. however, he is a tall guy and that caused him to have a different issue. that acrually is one of the main reasons for the sale.

the owners main concern was safety. in his opinion that is the reason why porsche later changed to disk brakes on all corners. this part could be considered a resto-mod. makes the car more of a value in my eyes.

i will tell him about the hood crest. i looked at it yesterday, and thought to myself,'hmmm i would think they would have made nicer crests in those days'.

yes, the flawless paint (the photo's REALLY do not do justice) and the fact, that this car is super straight, are amazing to me.

My neighbor just called me (he's not a RL member) - he's interested. Can you either post an asking price here or send me via Private Message?

He's serious enough of a buyer that he's flying to Houston next week to look at a car.

Thanks much,

Rick

The point is that the potential buyer is serious enough to travel. That he is scheduled to go to Houston serves purely as an example to illustrate this.

Gorgeous car btw...will you take 3 small children and some back teeth as part exchange?

The coupe seats definitely were an option. I had an original '57 Speedster that I purchased from the original owner and he bought the car with the coupe seats as an option because his wife hated the buckets seats. Actually, she hated the car so much it simply sat around their garage for so long, he sold it to me without so much as a scratch anywhere on the original but faded paint. I still wonder why I sold it.......for around $3000.......

No longer an interest it the car so don't need a price...offer discussions underway on car in TX. The delays here in even getting an asking price are puzzling.
