I figured as much. Anybody who loves a 356 is a gearhead and a classic acr lover.... We don't have to be exclusive ;-) (coming from a guy who's owned nothing but porsches since 1996)

Guess we'll be members of the Riverside Region, although we might just transfer into The Grand Prix Region because that the one we originally joined 20 years ago.
We'll be in our new home the first week of May. We are looking forward to meeting you too. We'll be at the German Autofest so I'm sure we'll see you there.

Found one
Wow, I had no ideas those cars were in such demand... I could have bought 3 356s in the same time it took to find a nice "Roundie" 2002 ! Ok, all 356 Bs, but still !
It's got issues, some rust (not a 356 construction so it's as big a deal, tons of OEM panels available), but it cost me as much as a used, leaky 356 motor ;-) Coincidentally, this car is leaky too ;-)
It needs a paint job - eventually - some rust repair but cosmetic only, the gearbox is getting replaced with a 5 speed unit, the diff resealed, brakes, shocks... The 912 parked next to it in the garage showed its jealousy by running like crap today !

Let me be the first to congratulate you!!. A very good friend of mine is a hard core restorer check out www.sports-car-restoration.com Matthew McGinn in Plantsville, Ct. he is often on this site. He is cut from datsun 510 / 2002 / Alfa GTV stock and owns one of each in fact. He of course is also a porsche nut. I'm sure he will be happy to answer any questions you may have or source parts etc..... Just check out the site / gallery for a sample of some past projects. 02 vert / 450hp 635csi / 911 RSR in progress. Very impressive end results best of show 02 fest LRP for one of his customers. The list goes on and on.
Good luck and enjoy your new toy!!!

Hey Greg...I'm also a huge fan of the 2002s...they are cool cars and the original ones, with "intact" interiors, really carry the old BMW essence... I hate the over modded ones...it's unbelievable what you see people doing to these cars...just like the 914s...what a waste and bad taste...oh a rhyme!
PS. I'll keep my eyes open as well...
