2004 Retro Speedster...will they produce it?
Personally I love it...except for the color. Can you imagine this car in Black or Silver with Can Can red interior? It would be amazing. I just thought you guys would enjoy this picture...looks like they only smoothed some edges and shaved the lights! I like it a lot!!!

That color is hideous! As long as they release it in standard porsche colors ie. nothing like that!
It would be interesting to see it. I would be even more interested if they would keep it as close as possible to the original series.
Hell, I would buy a 1950's - 1960's 356 if I could get one new. (not like new but actually new condition from being freshly built)

That concept car looks awesome except for the color . I really wish they wouldn't install a water cooled engine but keep the air cooled engine concept . I hope more people comment on this.

Burning Brakes
Sorry guys,
This isn't a concept car !!!
It's a kit produced by a French company and shown at the Paris motor show. They do standard 356 conv. kits as well.
I'll try to find the web site reference

Found it...
the company is PGO automotive in France
They do a "normal" speedster with new bits form the beetle factory in Mexico and then they do a speedster II - which I think is the one in the picture - which a an injected 138bhp Peugeot engine in a tubular chassis.
Check it out www.pgo.fr

Hi guys.
Did you mean that they wasted an original 356 for this? It's ugly man! Porsche don't need a new beetle version of the 356. At least, thats my opinion.

It has a composite molded bodyshell so no, they didn't "waste" a 356.
