Dear all

I've finally satisfied my longing for a 356 Speedster, although $$ and keeping my marriage intact pushed me in the direction of a very nice silver replica with black leather.

I will post pictures soon (if anyone wants to see it) but I have a question.

Does anybody make an electrically adjustable wing-mirror that is chrome and looks right for an older car.

The lack of the power mirrors is the only real no-no for taking it on long (ie 2-3 hr) cross country drives since the current mirrors are pretty useless.

I have a replica Speedster too, for over 6 years. It was produced and built by Chesil. Wouldn't an electrically adjustable mirror looks and feel a bit odd in the Speedster? I have wind up windows and that's as much comfort extra as I was able to add!! Enjoy the Speedster, it's great!!!!! <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

What's so bad about the mirrors that come with the car that you bought? You can still adjust them manually, right? Do they move with the wind or something?

I'll back up exce9llence's opinion about <a href="http://www.intermeccanica.com" target="_blank">www.intermeccanica.com</a> in BC Canada. Be warned though, once you toss in a few engine upgrades and other options you're looking at 30 - 40K!

With regard to the electric mirrors - my opinion is that anything other than the origional will really look out of place and be a whole lot more trouble that they'd be worth...

I have 2 cars without electric mirrors '71 911 and a '72 Alfa Spyder and I don't ever recall having to adjust them - I know I must have at one point, but it's obviously not a frequent task I need motor assist for!

IMO, the beauty of that car is its simplicity - I recommend putting away the drill and keeping it that way.

Pilotshark- there is a local dealer by me (High Marques in Morristown, NJ) that has 2 Beck speedsters, both very low miles and pretty much mint. They have "higher" performance 4-cylinder motors in them, but these cars are so light I'm sure it moves quite nicely with the 4 (can't imagine the speed with the 2.7L RS engine!!). Both of these are the older orignal body style like exc911ence's pictures above, not modernized cars like the car's in the picture Jack posted above. Both are silver, with I beleive red interior. By the way, I saw an article less than a year ago about these beck spiders- I've seen the two that High Marques has, and the quality is excellent. I beleve they are around $22,000 new, but the guys at High Marques told me Beck is no longer producing these. These guys are very reputable with my chapter of the Porsche Club, and in the area- they could ship the car to you- they have extremely clean Porsches and Ferraris, but I'm sure they are not the cheapest sales shop...
