Holy Schmoley
At 8600' in Yosemite, I met this guy with his '65 356 with 300K+ miles. He is the second owner, lives nearby, keeps it in a barn, and does not have email or Internet.
Each of our wives looked on bemused, as two somewhat grown men who had never met 5 minutes earlier, and likely would never meet again, spent 5 minutes taking pictures of the cars, then drove off.
I believe this was the last year for the 356. Can someone tell me if it was an S, if so what differentiation from prior models?

This car is a 356C. The prior model, 356B, had three engine options: the Normal engine (60 hp), the S Engine (75 hp) and the Super 90 (90 hp). I think that by 1965, the C's all came with the Super 90. Also, the C's had disk brakes, whereas the B's were the last model with drum brakes.

Hello
The 64-65 where the 356C wich had basically the 75HP engine. ( 60 HP was only offered on special order )
The SC versions had the 95 HP engine and a "longer" transmission.
Beside the Tach and the full carpet on the floor plus the little SC script on the rear there isn´t a way to see the difference from the outside.

Thanks, Roland. Coincidentally, yesterday I found a book on the 356 in the "while you wait" reading section of my independent mechanic. I hope to maintain my car and myself so as to have the aesthetic equivalent of the 356 many years from now, no matter how many miles we each have on us.
