Need a little help. I for the life of me find it difficult to distinquish a real 356 speedster to a replica 356 speedster (especially beck or intermecca). I'm not talking about the widebody speedster, but the ones that are made to try to look exactly like the real thing. What do you guys look for to distinquish between the two.

Also, in many, the vinyl/leather dash top does not go all the way across the top and ends short of the door opening edge. Engine, wheel wells, and bottoms are also a quick way. Oh, and the fact that it's parked in a supermarket parking lot!

I did Bret, but sometimes I just can't help myself...
Distinguishing them in photos, from certain angles & at a distance can be hard - I usually tell them apart by the characteristics already noted, + the type of brakes (Speedsters didn't have frt disks, like many replicas). In person, it's simple if you've ever examined a real Speedster (pretty rare to find a 356 motor in a replica, obviously). If all else fails, a magnet works well - "steel is real". cheers!
